Recently, my buddy and I had a heated exchange over differences in leadership philosophy. There's no right or wrong, but I think he's leadership style would be a happier one.
His leadership style can be summarized into 3 points
- Delegate
- Trust that your workers can do it
- Step in only if there's feedback saying it can't be done
The key to such happy leadership is that you must have a firm belief that your workers are capable to execute the job, and the emotional detachment that what you delegate which is not done is not your problem. It's the worker's problem unless there's feedback.
What is your style of leadership?
