Heart Attack -
"The file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents."
Imagine trying to open your 1 month's of hard work only to read this when your deadline is tomorrow...
- Cultivate good habits that prevent you from getting screwed
So, here are a couple of good practices to adopt for work:
1. Backup daily
Backup, backup, backup. A really good habit, is to send an end-of-day version to Gmail and upload it to dropbox everyday. That way, you do not have to worry because you always have 2 backups, and your worse case scenario would be to lose only one day's of work. More importantly, it would not put you in those situations(which i experienced just minutes ago) where your head is about to explode.
2. Work on the cloud
If you are one of those unlucky ones who have experienced your computer crashing, you know it isn't a nice experience. Fortunately, with technological advancements in computing, it is now possibly to store everything online in the cloud. With applications like dropbox and sugarsync, it is now possible to save all your files online, and do away with the worry of losing your files stored in your local server.
